Underwriter

Location This position will be based out of our Irvine, CA, Los Angeles, CA, or San Francisco, CA office. Responsibilities Evaluate Underwriting Risks: Drive submission activity and determine risk acceptability using company guidelines. Demonstrate Technical Expertise: Apply deep product knowledge across multiple Middle Market P&C insurance lines. Execute Strategic Pricing: Price risks accurately using sophisticated financial models and diverse structures. Maintain Underwriting Discipline: Use specialized tools to ensure thorough account reviews and complete documentation. Analyze Market Trends: Monitor state regulations, territory issues, and underwriting data to drive results. Cultivate Broker Relationships: Build strong connections through active marketing, client meetings, and regional travel. Qualifications Minimum 1-2 years of underwriting experience. Experience producing and underwriting accounts of all sizes with major brokerage houses, agents, and specialty retailers. Team player with grit, collaborative by nature. Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Salary $65,000 - $125,000. Actual compensation depends on factors such as location, qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience.
