Shop Floor Supervisor

Onsite Location: Petaluma, CA

Position Summary

HydroPoint is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Supervisor to lead daily production operations within a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment.

This position combines production leadership, team development, workflow coordination, and operational problem-solving. Unlike a traditional supervisor role, the successful candidate will be actively engaged on the production floor while leading a small team and partnering closely with Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, and Operations.

The ideal candidate is a practical leader who can effectively balance people leadership, production execution, inventory awareness, and continuous improvement while helping the organization scale for future growth.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Workflow Management

• Lead daily manufacturing activities to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity goals
• Coordinate production priorities and labor assignments
• Monitor workflow and adjust resources to meet production schedules
• Identify and escalate material shortages, production bottlenecks, and operational issues
• Support production activities during peak demand periods

Team Leadership

• Supervise, coach, and develop manufacturing personnel
• Manage attendance, scheduling, timecards, and performance feedback
• Foster a positive, accountable, and collaborative work environment
• Support employee training and cross-training activities
• Help develop future leaders within the manufacturing team

Inventory & Material Coordination

• Partner with Planning and Supply Chain to ensure material availability
• Communicate inventory concerns and production risks
• Participate in cycle counts and inventory accuracy efforts
• Help ensure proper material handling and transaction discipline

Quality & Continuous Improvement

• Ensure adherence to manufacturing procedures and quality standards
• Support root-cause investigations and corrective actions
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, throughput, safety, and organization
• Assist with implementation of engineering changes and new products

Facility & Equipment Support

• Coordinate routine facility and equipment needs
• Assist with basic troubleshooting and maintenance activities
• Maintain a safe, organized, and professional work environment

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Serve as the day-to-day manufacturing representative for Petaluma operations
• Partner with Supply Chain, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Customer Operations teams
• Communicate operational priorities, risks, and challenges clearly and effectively

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of manufacturing experience
• 2+ years leading or supervising production teams
• Experience in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environments
• Experience managing production schedules and labor priorities
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable working hands-on in a manufacturing environment
• Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to read and understand manufacturing documentation, work instructions, and bills of material

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with electronics or electromechanical assembly
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement methodologies
• Experience supporting inventory control, shipping, and receiving activities
• Experience in small to mid-sized manufacturing organizations
