This position offers long-term career growth, high-level independence, and a friendly, informal office environment complete with four-legged coworkers.How You Will Make an ImpactPrepare precise commercial estimates for storm, water, and sewer utility projects using specialized bidding platforms.Analyze civil blueprints, project specifications, and scope requirements to build competitive, highly accurate project bids.Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and utility plan reviews using tools such as PlanSwift and HCSS Heavy Bid.Collaborate with general contractors, project owners, and internal operations to ensure clear communication throughout the bidding process.Partner with accounting and purchasing departments to prepare detailed project budgets and secure competitive pre-bid material quotes.Facilitate seamless preconstruction planning and handoffs to the project management team upon award.Process, track, and maintain accurate documentation for project change orders and official project correspondence.Required Qualifications & ExperienceMinimum of 3 years of experience in commercial utility estimating, specifically focused on storm, water, and sewer systems.Proven track record of independently facilitating the complete bidding process for commercial wet utility projects.Demonstrated ability to read and analyze complex civil blueprints, technical specifications, and site development plans.Proficiency using online bidding platforms (such as IsqFt, BuildingConnected, Procore, or SmartBid) and standard Microsoft Office applications.Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build professional relationships with general contractors, clients, and internal teams.Hands-on proficiency with specialized estimating software including PlanSwift, Microsoft Project, and HCSS Heavy Bid.Personable and responsive, with strong follow-up skills to help close projects and keep bidding communication moving on time.Preferred Qualifications & ExperienceActive Responsible Managing Employee – Underground (RME-U) or Responsible Master Plumber (RMP) license.Professional bilingual communication skills (Spanish).Compensation & BenefitsCompetitive annual base salary between $90,000 and $130,000 plus performance-based Annual Bonus opportunities.Bi-weekly pay cycle and Referral Bonus Program.Comprehensive Medical Insurance and Health Savings Account (HSA) options.Life and Disability Insurance options.Generous Paid Time Off covering holidays, vacation, and sick leave.Provided tech package including a smartphone or tablet.Ongoing company-paid training and certifications, including safety, technical, and OSHA coursework.Provided safety equipment (helmets, gloves, and job site gear).Friendly, dog-friendly office setting with real opportunities for career advancement.About UsFounded in 1999, Bear Creek Construction, Ltd. is a premier North Texas underground utility contractor specializing in commercial and public works infrastructure projects across the DFW Metroplex.
