The Manufacturing Maintenance Mechanic maintains and repairs production machinery, packaging equipment, conveyors, material-handling equipment, and mixed equipment systems. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this role supports reliable plant operations through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, inspections, and safe, well-documented repairs. The position may support day-shift and rotating-shift schedules, including operational needs requiring schedule flexibility.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on manufacturing and material-handling equipment.
- Repair production machinery, packaging equipment, conveyors, and related systems.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
- Conduct electrical diagnostics and identify root causes of equipment failures.
- Inspect machines and replace worn or damaged parts.
- Read blueprints and apply technical information to maintenance activities.
- Document maintenance work, repairs, inspections, and equipment conditions.
- Follow safety requirements and promote safe maintenance practices.
Required Qualifications
- Mechanical troubleshooting experience.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices.
- Understanding of electrical systems.
- Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Strong safety awareness.
Preferred Qualifications
- Three or more years of experience in industrial maintenance.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
