Senior Transportation Engineer

Senior Roadway/Transportation Engineer Location: Fairfax or Richmond, VA. Dewberry is currently seeking a Senior Transportation/Roadway Project Engineer in our growing Fairfax or Richmond, VA offices. The successful candidate will work on all phases of Transportation Projects for a variety of public and private sector clients. Transportation projects will include interchanges, roadway widenings, roundabout design, bridge projects, drainage systems, storm water management, utility relocations and preparation of contract documents, primarily for Caltrans and public agencies. Responsibilities Transportation projects will include horizontal and vertical road alignments, drainage systems, storm water management, traffic studies, utility relocations, development of maintenance of traffic plans, and preparation of contract documents. Work across all phases of transportation projects. Must be flexible, technologically savvy, and client focused. Work requires strong capabilities in AutoCAD, Microstation, and Microsoft Office Suite. Required Skills & Experience BS degree in Civil Engineering or related field. VA PE license, or ability to obtain within 1 year. 5+ years of experience in transportation engineering. Proficient with Microstation. Ability to work in a timely fashion to meet project budgets. Ability to communicate effectively with clients, coworkers, sub consultants, and county/agency review staff. Ability to compose technical reports, memorandums, and other written communication. Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects. Dewberry is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
