Lead AI Product Manager

Job Description Be part of the Enterprise AI organization at Humana, driving AI innovation across Insurance and CenterWell. We seek a product leader who can work with cross‑functional teams—engineers, designers, data scientists, and business stakeholders—to build AI‑powered solutions that solve enterprise problems. The role requires moving quickly from understanding a challenge to prototyping and validating an AI solution, leading a complex product area, defining success, and driving step‑change results across the organization. Key Responsibilities Lead a complex product area within the applied AI portfolio, defining success and prioritizing problems while considering the wider organizational context. Partner directly with business units to understand operations, capture requirements, map processes, and identify AI‑driven improvement opportunities. Translate business objectives and user needs into scoped AI use cases and drive them from concept through prototyping, development, evaluation, and validation. Own the backlog—write epics, features, and user stories—and prioritize the work. Develop detailed program plans, milestones, and risk mitigation strategies. Lead rapid prototyping of AI solutions, including GenAI applications, AI agents, conversational AI, and intelligent automation, to demonstrate feasibility and business value. Collaborate with engineers, designers, and data scientists to define product vision, develop roadmaps, and track progress against goals while improving team health and effectiveness. Gather and analyze user research, business process data, and market analysis to inform product decisions and influence the wider product organization. Develop evaluation frameworks to benchmark AI models and platforms against enterprise success requirements. Create reusable product frameworks, playbooks, and best practices that accelerate AI solution delivery across the organization. Influence strategy and progress across partner teams, enhancing collaboration and resolving divergent goals. Communicate product strategy, progress, and business value with radical clarity to all stakeholders. Mentor, coach, and provide hands‑on guidance to PMs and cross‑functional team members. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. 7+ years of experience, with 4+ years in product design, service design, program or product management. Experience leading cross‑functional product teams across a full product line, crafting product mission, strategy, and driving milestones. Demonstrated experience gathering requirements, mapping processes, and identifying high‑impact AI opportunities with business stakeholders. Hands‑on experience prototyping or building AI‑powered solutions. Experience with AI/ML products and platforms in enterprise environments (GenAI, conversational AI, intelligent automation). Proven ability to drive a step‑change in product performance and team effectiveness. Experience managing products through the full lifecycle—from discovery, prototyping, validation to deployment support. Product & Technical Skills Strong analytical skills for large‑scale data sets and data‑driven decision making. Ability to integrate diverse user and business requirements into a coherent product strategy. Deep understanding of AI/ML concepts and practical implications for enterprise product design. Experience with GenAI platforms, prompt engineering, AI agent frameworks, and rapid AI prototyping. Knowledge of AI solution architectures (e.g., RAG, conversational AI, vector databases) for feasibility evaluation. Ability to develop evaluation frameworks for AI model and platform performance. Familiarity with design and prototyping tools such as Figma and Miro. Understanding of human‑centered design principles and data visualization for AI products. Knowledge of responsible AI principles, bias mitigation, and ethical AI design. Strategy, Leadership & Communication Ability to synthesize complex information and translate between business and technical language with radical clarity. Experience with product strategy, roadmap planning, feature prioritization, and agile delivery. Ability to build compelling business cases and ROI models to drive AI investment decisions. Experience leading and motivating teams and influencing across an organization without direct authority. Strong communication skills with executive and cross‑functional audiences; balanced innovation with practical execution. Proven ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels. Awareness of industry trends, emerging AI technologies, and best practices in enterprise AI product development. Preferred Qualifications 7+ years in product design, service design, UX/UI design, program or product management. Experience in healthcare. Work Arrangement This position follows a hybrid work style and must be performed at one of Humana’s designated IT hub locations: Louisville, KY; Tampa, FL; Dallas, TX; Boston, MA; New York City; or Washington, D.C. Internet service requirements: a minimum download speed of 25 Mbps and upload speed of 10 Mbps. Employees in California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota receive a bi‑weekly payment for their internet expense. Humana provides home or hybrid employees with telephone equipment as required and requires a dedicated work space that protects patient PHI/HIPAA information. Work Hours & Compensation Scheduled weekly hours: 40 Pay range: $151,600 – $208,400 per year (adjusted by location and qualifications). Eligible for a bonus incentive plan based on company or individual performance.
