Estimator in Training

Job Summary Position: Estimator in Training (Apprentice)Location: Fort Oglethorpe, GA. The role works closely with the Estimator to learn how to diagnose and prepare accurate, thorough, and profitable repair estimates in accordance with insurance partner and company guidelines. Key Responsibilities Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan. Greet customer at repair drop-off and build rapport. Map damage with customer, including previous, current loss, and WOW opportunities. Handle repair mapping, take initial photographs. Upload photos and notes to CCC One, including arrival time, etc. Notify production that vehicle has arrived and place in production queue. Verify estimate during teardown. Finalize estimate using the proper Repair Planning Template. Work with repair team to ensure notations on the windshield are correct and complete. Create final parts list. Use Promise Date Calculator to set promise date. Call customer to review estimate and promise date. Update customer regularly according to management standards. Participate in and contribute to scheduled production meetings. Call customers whose cars will be completed the next day and schedule with them. Follow up with technicians after vehicle teardown and adjust estimate if needed. Assist insurance adjusters with damage reports and provide service to insurance claim re-inspectors. Education & Experience High school diploma or GED required. Prior customer service experience required. Must possess or successfully complete 16 I‑CAR units within the first 12 months of employment. Preferred: 4–6 years related work experience. Photo‑imaging software experience preferred. Required Skills & Abilities Excellent communication skills. Computer literate; knowledge of Microsoft products preferred. Good decision‑making ability and sound judgment. Other Requirements Must be able to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, and crouch while accurately estimating vehicle damage. Must possess clear vision for accurate damage estimation. Compensation Hourly rate: $17–24 per hour, commensurate with skill, education and experience. Supplemental pay: Bonus opportunities tied to individual or business initiatives.
