CitizenRacecar seeks a motivated producer/coaches in the New York City area to help teach the next generation of audio journalists!
\n \nCitizenRacecar is an industry-leading company that provides non-profit organizations, government agencies, and forward-looking companies around the country with production of emotionally engaging audio. In our unique education program, Afterschool Podcasting, we’re teaching elementary through high school-aged students the fundamentals of audio storytelling and empowering them to create their own podcast series.
\n \nWe are immediately hiring part-time podcast educators to join our coaching team for the 2026-27 school year, to teach classes on the fundamentals of podcasting and create student-led audio episodes.
\n \nDuties include:
\n- \n
- Training on our curriculum and philosophy \n
- Facilitating a classroom of up to 25 children in developing, recording and editing a podcast \n
- Processing and story-editing student recordings \n
- Traveling to afterschools site to lead one- or two-hour class sessions \n
- Inspiring kids with the possibilities of audio storytelling \n
- Training and supporting their use of recording equipment and text-to-audio editing software \n
- Regular administrative meetings \n
Work to begin immediately through December 2026 with possible renewal for subsequent project terms. $33/hour, 5-15 hours per week. On-clock hours include training, travel, prep, teaching, file processing, and editing.
\n \nMust have both audio production and storytelling experience and experience working with children. Must be either a US citizen or a resident with green card and social security number. Must be based within an easy commute to New York City, NY. Must pass a criminal background check and health screening. Working fluency in Spanish a strong plus.
