JOB DESCRIPTION

\n

FOX News is looking for a sharp, creative, and highly motivated Line Producer to oversee live television production in a fast-paced news environment. The ideal candidate has strong editorial judgment, excellent writing skills, and the ability to create compelling segments while managing the control room under deadline pressure.

\n

\n

The Line Producer is a key contributor to the editorial process, responsible for developing ideas, shaping coverage, building rundowns, and making real-time decisions during breaking news. This person should be a natural leader who is collaborative, decisive, detail-oriented, and eager to grow into expanded editorial and leadership responsibilities.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Build, maintain, and execute the rundown
\n
• Manage live control room production and make real-time editorial decisions during breaking news
\n
• Collaborate with senior producers, bookers, and associate producers to develop daily coverage
\n
• Identify strong video, soundbites, graphics, and visual storytelling opportunities
\n
• Produce guest segments, reporter hits, anchor discussions, and breaking news coverage
\n
• Copy edit scripts, banners, and graphics to ensure accuracy, clarity, and strong storytelling
\n
• Monitor multiple news sources and flag important developments throughout the day
\n
• Participate in editorial meetings and contribute original story ideas and segment concepts
\n
• Communicate clearly and effectively with talent, directors, and technical staff during live broadcasts
\n
• Assist with social media and cross-platform content initiatives as needed
\n
• Help mentor junior producers and contribute to a collaborative team environment
\n

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

\n

\n
• Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience
\n
• Prior television and live control room experience
\n
• Proven ability to make sound editorial decisions independently in a fast-paced news environment
\n
• Strong news judgment and passion for breaking news, politics, and current events
\n
• Excellent writing, copy editing, and communication skills
\n
• Ability to remain calm and decisive under deadline pressure
\n
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
\n
• Ability to identify compelling elements that elevate television storytelling
\n
• Knowledge of news, politics, and current events.
\n
• Familiarity with iNews, Dalet, VIZ, and newsroom production workflows.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $83,000.00-115,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
