Project EngineerWestwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer in the Land Development Division to support our growing Data Center group in the Virginia area. Westwood has a highly experienced and dynamic team of individuals dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients.RequirementsConsults with client to determine project requirementsAnalyzes reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, tests, and aerial photographs on soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and other topographical and geologic data to plan and design projectVisits project site to ascertain existing conditionsCalculates cost and determines feasibility of projects based on analysis of collected dataPrepares, conducts or directs preparation of reports, design, specifications, plans and construction administrationConducts periodic on-site observations of work during construction to monitor progress and ensure conformance to engineering plans and specificationsPrepares calculations, specifications, construction documents, and inspection reports for projects as assigned using discipline-specific softwareSupports and communicates with team members throughout all stages of design, production, approval and construction processesRequired Skills and Abilities:Ability to read, analyze and interpretAbility to write effective reports and correspondenceConstruction document and 3D production abilityPossesses a firm understanding of engineering design for all aspects of site development along with current knowledge of industry trends, technology, codes and regulationsEmbraces teamwork approach and possesses strong communication skillsMust possess strong technical skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office products, AutoCAD and other discipline specific softwareEducation and Experience:Minimum of five (5) years of total experience, specifically in Commercial Land Development.Graduate from an accredited university or college with a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (Experience or degrees in other disciplines may be substituted at Management's discretion).This position requires travel to project sites and other Westwood offices throughout the United StatesOther Duties:Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
