Supplier Promotions Accountant

:

Summary:

The Supplier Promotions Accountant is responsible for managing all vendor receivables and ensuring current payments.

Essential Job Duties:

• Prepare and submit vendor cost deviation claims
• Prepare and submit vendor price protection claims
• Management and/or submission of POS reporting
• Collect vendor claims for cost deviations and price protections. Work with vendors, Cost Accounting, Marketing and SBMs as necessary to limit financial exposure
• Track promotion and claim receivables by vendor to ensure timely payment
• Identify and resolve claim discrepancies
• Gain knowledge of vendor programs and promotions
• Maintain relationship with vendor partner(s)
• Invoice and collect vendor claims for promotions and price protections.
• Prepare adjusting entries to the general ledger (write offs, manual claims, etc.)
• Apply payments to vendor receivables.
• Reconcile related vendor receivable accounts and assigned vendor reserve accounts.
• Report accurate vendor receivables and adjustments to inventory according to GAAP. Ensure the timely preparation of vendor claims and collection of receivables.
• Understand and maintain controls related to the functions mentioned above
• Perform special projects as necessary.
• Other duties as assigned
• Regular attendance is an essential function of this position

Reporting Relationships:

• Direct supervision given from Manager, Supplier Promotions Accounting
• No Direct Reports
• Daily contact with vendor representatives, sales reps, and ScanSource management
• Will occasionally make presentations to both vendor and ScanSource Senior Management

Credentials:

Required:

• High School/GED
• Organizational Skills
• Microsoft Office Experience
• 2 Years Finance and/or Accounting Experience

Preferred:

• Bachelor's Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience (Finance/Accounting)
• Negotiation Skills
• SAP Experience
• Proficiency in foreign language (Spanish, Portuguese, French, German)

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit a computer terminal for long periods of time
• Ability to be physically in attendance at workstation at designated company office location during normal business hours designated for the position
• Ability to travel up to 10 percent of the time
• Ability to lift 10 pounds

Compensation:

Compensation Range: $60,500-$65,000

Actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on a number of variables including work experience, education and skills/ achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer. This position is not eligible for a variable pay component as part of the hiring range.
