Med Surg Float Pool Nurse

Job Description

The Med Surg Float Pool nurse provides comprehensive patient care across multiple medical-surgical units, adapting quickly to varying patient populations and unit workflows. Nurses are expected to function independently, demonstrate strong clinical judgment, and uphold all hospital policies and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide care across all inpatient Medical-Surgical units.
• Adapt to varying patient populations and unit workflows.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, documentation standards, and medication safety protocols.
• Float between multiple units as necessary.
• Demonstrate strong EPIC proficiency in patient management.

Schedule

This position requires 3 × 12 hour shifts per week from 07:00 – 19:30.

Weekend and Holiday Requirements

Every other weekend is required. Agency staff are not scheduled on holidays.

Required Experience and Certifications

• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg nursing experience.
• Certifications: BLS, NIHHS (ACLS and TNCC preferred).
