Lincoln, NE | Direct Hire | 2 Days/Week Remote
A stable, highly respected insurance organization is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its growing Accounting team. This opportunity is ideal for candidates with insurance accounting, statutory reporting (STAT), or public accounting audit experience supporting insurance clients who are looking to transition into industry.

What You’ll Do
• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger activity
• Assist with statutory financial reporting and regulatory filings
• Support internal and external audits, including audit schedules and documentation
• Prepare financial and statistical reports for leadership and outside stakeholders
• Research accounting guidance and assist with implementation of new standards
• Recommend and implement process improvements, automation initiatives, and internal controls
• Partner cross-functionally with finance and operational teams
• Mentor junior accounting staff and support special projects
What We’re Looking For
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Related Field
• Experience in one of the following areas strongly preferred:
- Insurance accounting
- Statutory reporting (STAT)
- Public accounting audit experience auditing insurance clients
• CPA or CPA-track preferred
• Strong analytical, reconciliation, and reporting skills
• Advanced Excel skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines
• ERP or Workday experience is a plus
