Temporary Staff Accountant

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support accounts payable, and general accounting operations. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial transactions, maintaining financial records, supporting audits, and assisting with month-end close activities.
Key Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices and payments, including ACH, EFT, and wire transfers.
• Prepare annual 1099 reporting and related reconciliations.
• Monitor and respond to finance-related inquiries.
• Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation.
• Assist with expense reporting and credit card reconciliations.
• Support month-end close activities and journal entry preparation.
• Provide support during annual audits and compliance reviews.
• Cross-train with accounting team members and assist with finance process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• Associate's degree with relevant accounting experience will also be considered.
• Minimum 2 years of accounting experience in a professional environment.
• Accounts payable experience required.
• Nonprofit accounting experience is a plus.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with accounting systems preferred.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.

Additional Information

• Primarily office-based role.
• Minimal travel required.
• Occasional evening or weekend work may be necessary.
