Surgical Technician

Assists in preparing for and during surgery by performing routine and delegated duties according to standards and policies of the department and hospital to assure quality patient care.

EDUCATION Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma. HS Diploma: High School or General Education (GED) or equivalent education/experience. Other: Completion of a formal accredited Operating Room Technician program. CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider. Surgical Technician Certification (TS-C, CST, or NRST) is required to be eligible for incentive (if allowed per the Collective Bargaining Agreement for union represented employees).

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN: Two (2) years scrubbing experience at CPMC required. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Basic knowledge of surgical procedures, equipment, and supplies. Requires communication, organization and interpersonal skills. Requires flexibility to accommodate emergencies as well as changing schedules and priorities.

Pay Range is $56.50 to $67.51 / hour. The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate's experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs.
