Position Overview Be part of a growing dealership and one of the most important teams – the service department! PLS Auto is seeking a full-service Automotive Repair Technician to diagnose and repair operational issues on various makes and models of vehicles which are generally 3 to 10 years old. Job Responsibilities Maintain vehicle functional condition by listening to operator complaints (described by a manager); conducting inspections; diagnosing functionality issues; repairing diagnosed mechanical failures in a timely manner; repairing multiple system issues including electrical, cooling, braking, HVAC, steering and other system malfunctions; replacing parts and components Understand and use standard diagnostic tools such as code readers and shop software programs to maintain vehicle records by recording service and repairs Make any and all repairs necessary to vehicles including the removal and replacement of major components Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs Contain costs by evaluating service and parts options Keep supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt Other duties as assigned Job Requirements 3 years of hands‑on experience diagnosing and repairing used vehicles in a commercial service facility including working in a dispatcher type system and ordering parts when necessary National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications preferred A track record of dependable diagnostic capability – references required Must provide own tools Work in a minimally climate‑controlled facility daily Capable of customer interaction when necessary Valid driver’s license with good driving record Physical Requirements This is a heavy line technician position with the standard physical demands of that position Benefits for eligible employees include medical/dental/vision, 401k, vacation, opportunities for advancement, on-going training available.
