Principal Service Engineer – ServiceNow (Hybrid) As a Service Engineer on the ServiceNow team, you’ll partner with stakeholders, developers, and product owners early in the lifecycle to design, operate, and continuously improve enterprise‑scale services that empower caregivers. You’ll help shape the ServiceNow vision and roadmap—bringing deep technical expertise to guide decisions and deliver measurable outcomes across quality, cost efficiency, usability, and caregiver satisfaction. From turning requirements into clear designs and best practices to engineering resilient, secure, high‑performance solutions, you’ll own problems end‑to‑end and drive them to lasting resolution. You’ll lead innovation, optimize platform performance and spend, strengthen disaster recovery readiness, and ensure every release is predictable, reliable, and production‑ready. Responsibilities Own product strategy, roadmap, and development for ServiceNow Define Architecture & Platform Strategy Own Integration & Enterprise Architecture Patterns Enable application lifecycle decisions (rationalization, modernization, retirement) Collaborate with architects, developers, and operations teams using Agile/Scrum Establish Platform Governance & Engineering Standards Ensure Quality, Performance & Reliability while supporting delivery and continuous improvement Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field (or equivalent education/experience) 8+ years of related experience Strong experience in automation of deployment, recovery, or manual processes Strong experience with n‑tier solutions Experience in resilience modeling and simulating service outages for solutions and platforms Experience translating customer and technical requirements into service architecture that meets Quality of Service expectations Experience leading and representing the Service in backlog discussions and standups to prioritize Live Site requirements Data‑driven decision making using metrics and root‑cause analysis Preferred Qualifications ServiceNow Certifications (CSA, CAD, EA) Experience with ServiceNow CMDB and Application Portfolio Management Understanding of CSDM and CI relationships Product Owner or Business Analyst experience Agile/Scrum delivery experience Stakeholder management and communication skills ServiceNow integrations experience Hybrid Work Locations Anchorage, Alaska (within 65 miles) Renton, Seattle, or Redmond, Washington (within 65 miles) Portland, Oregon (within 65 miles) Irvine, California (within 65 miles) Salary Range (By Location) Anchorage, Alaska: $68.33 – $116.36 per hour Southern California (excluding Bakersfield): $71.23 – $121.29 per hour Portland, Oregon: $68.33 – $116.36 per hour Western Washington: $71.23 – $121.29 per hour Benefits Providence offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes a retirement 401(k) Savings Plan with employer matching, health care (medical, dental, vision), life insurance, disability insurance, paid parental leave, vacations, holidays, and additional voluntary benefits.
