Utilize standardized evaluations and observational methods to assess patients from the pediatric, adult, and geriatric spectrums.
Design individualized treatment plans that cater to immediate goals alongside long-term communication or swallowing needs.
Engage in focused one-on-one therapy sessions centered on enhancing communication skills, fluency, voice, and swallowing capabilities.
Work in harmony with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and families to ensure comprehensive care strategies.
Provide educational resources to patients and families, enabling progress beyond the walls of therapy sessions.
Conduct inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions as needed, ensuring seamless continuity of care.
Keep meticulous documentation that adheres to state, federal, and organizational standards.
Commit to professional growth through continued education and collaboration with peers.
A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
State licensure for a Speech Language Pathologist.
ASHA's Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) is preferred.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
Expertise in evidence-based treatment modalities applicable across the lifespan, complemented by a deep understanding of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
Exceptional interpersonal communication skills to effectively engage with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams.
Capability to adjust therapy approaches in respect of diversified cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Strong clinical insight and creative problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in managing electronic medical records and adhering to documentation requirements.
