Human Resources Specialist (Compensation)

This position is part of the Defense Human Resources Activity. The incumbent serves as the principal assistant to both the senior analysts and Chief, Appropriated Fund Wage Survey Branch, Wage and Salary Division. Shares in planning, organization, and execution of the Federal Wage System (FWS) wage-setting program for all appropriated fund wage areas.. GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service: Conducting structured research and applying rigorous analytical methodologies to deliver accurate assessments and actionable, data-driven insights. Delivering exceptional professional service by clarifying intricate requirements and ensuring prompt, reliable resolution of customer and partner inquiries. Utilizing professional diplomacy and tact to navigate challenging interactions, resolve complex discrepancies, and constructively work through friction with resistant stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes. GS-12, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service: Conducting research to gather clear-cut information and apply standardized analytical methods and techniques to accurately assess gathered information. Providing high-quality customer service by communicating professionally with customers, explaining procedures and requirements, and responding to questions or concerns in a timely manner. Utilizing effective and persuasive communication skills to obtain information, follow upon requests, and clarify discrepancies. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
