A leading manufacturing organization is hiring a Production Operator to support day-to-day production activities in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment. This is an on-site position on the production floor.
Pay & Schedule
- Pay Rate: $19.50/hr
- Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- Location: Ames, IA (on-site)— candidates should have reliable transportation and live within a reasonable commute (about 30 miles ).
In this role, you’ll perform production activities and operate equipment in alignment with safety, quality, SOPs, and production requirements. You’ll assist with handling raw materials and finished goods, monitoring processes, documenting work, and maintaining strong housekeeping and safety practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor production equipment and processes (mixing/blending/packaging).
- Handle raw materials: receive/unload, transport, weigh per batch formula, and load mixers.
- Print/inspect/reconcile labels as needed; support final packaging and palletizing.
- Record process conditions, actions, and production documentation.
- Collect samples of raw materials/finished goods and support quality checks.
- Perform minor maintenance and troubleshoot issues; escalate concerns to the lead/supervisor.
- Maintain housekeeping standards (5S/cGMP/allergen storage expectations, etc.).
- Communicate handoffs and key updates with the team across shifts.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Forklift experience/ability to operate a forklift
- Ability to work in a physical, fast-paced production environment
- Dependable attendance and flexibility; able to work with minimal supervision
- Must be able to frequently move up to ~60 lbs
