Master’s degree in School Counseling, Counseling or a related field, active School Counselor license and 1+ years School Counselor experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Make a positive impact on high school students’ academic journey in Michigan as a full-time School Counselor. In this contract role, you’ll dedicate your expertise to helping students identify goals, overcome challenges, and develop strategic plans for success. This assignment covers the full academic year, beginning August 24, 2026 and concluding June 4, 2027.

Your day-to-day will involve direct interaction with high school students, offering academic guidance, social-emotional support, and career and college planning resources. Leverage your certification and understanding of counseling practices to create a safe, supportive environment and help young people realize their full potential.

Qualifications:

• Valid Michigan teaching certificate with a SCHOOL COUNSELOR (NT) K-12 endorsement
• Bachelor’s degree, along with the required counseling certification
• Previous teaching experience is highly valued
• Comprehensive knowledge of counseling principles and thoughtful insight into student needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver counseling services to a diverse caseload of high school students
• Guide students through academic planning, course selection, and preparation for post-secondary options
• Provide individualized and group counseling on personal, academic, and social issues
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop effective student support strategies
• Maintain accurate records and uphold ethical confidentiality standards
• Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance skillset and introduce best practices
