Nurse PractitionerRWJBarnabas Health is Hiring a Nurse Practitioner for Full-Time EmploymentLocation: Newark Beth Israel Medical CenterSpecialty: Acute Care, Behavioral Health, Critical Care, Womens HealthProfession: Nurse PractitionerQualificationsMaster's Degree in Nursing from an accredited nurse practitioner programCurrent New Jersey Registered Nurse licenseCurrent New Jersey Advanced Practice Nurse LicenseNP CertificationValid CDS and DEA licensesBLS and ACLS certifications requiredBenefitsPay Range: $57.69 - $91.34 per hourThe above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New JerseyThe compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experienceResponsibilitiesThe Advanced Practice Nurse APN is a key member of the Rapid Response Team, at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center, providing critical care expertise during acute patient decompensationsWorking in collaboration with the medical team and nursing staff, the APN performs rapid clinical assessments and initiates interventions in response to adult medical alerts and clinical emergenciesResponsibilities include obtaining patient histories, conducting physical exams, writing orders and progress notes, evaluating diagnostic tests and prescribing appropriate pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapiesThe APN educates patients and families, documents teaching and discharge summaries, and serves as a clinical resource for bedside staffActive participation in hospital-wide initiatives, including the sepsis reduction program, is expectedPerform comprehensive assessments and implement evidence-based interventions for deteriorating patientsWrite progress notes, orders, and document teaching/discharge instructionsOrder and interpret diagnostic tests, including lab work, radiology, and ECGsCollaborate with physicians and care teams to ensure timely escalation and appropriate care planningPrescribe and manage pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments as neededParticipate in sepsis screenings and bundle complianceCommunicate critical findings and clinical updates to the primary team and nursing staffSupport bedside nurses in clinical decision-making and patient managementMaintain accurate documentation in accordance with hospital policyAssist with procedures when indicated and appropriateProvide patient and family education around disease process, treatment plan, and prognosisParticipate in quality improvement and safety initiativesProvide off-shift coverage and respond to emergency calls throughout the hospitalPerform additional duties as assigned by the RRT leadership or attending physiciansLicenses and Certifications: • Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited nurse practitioner program • Current New Jersey Registered Nurse license • Current New Jersey Advanced Practice Nurse License • NP Certification • Valid CDS and DEA licenses • BLS and ACLS certifications required
