Mayahuel is a modern, elevated dining concept celebrating vibrant Mexican flavors, artisanal agave, thoughtfully crafted beverages, and genuine hospitality. We are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead our team, oversee restaurant performance, and create memorable guest experiences.

The General Manager is responsible for the overall success of the restaurant, including leadership, hospitality, operations, financial performance, and service execution. This is a hands-on role for someone who leads from the floor and understands that exceptional hospitality goes beyond service standards — it is about how we make people feel.

Who We’re Looking For

• Proven General Manager or senior leadership experience in fine dining, upscale dining, or a comparable hospitality environment.
• Passion for genuine hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.
• Proven ability to recruit, coach, develop, and lead high-performing teams.
• Strong financial acumen with experience managing labor, budgets, inventory, costs, forecasting, and profitability.
• Working knowledge of elevated wine, cocktail, and beverage programs.
• Exceptional communication, organization, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Collaborative, hands-on leadership style with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development

• Lead by example and create a positive, accountable, hospitality-driven culture.
• Recruit, train, coach, and develop managers and team members to consistently deliver exceptional performance.
• Establish clear expectations while providing ongoing feedback, recognition, and development.
• Foster a culture built on teamwork, professionalism, respect, and genuine care for guests and employees.
• Address performance concerns and team challenges promptly and professionally.

Guest Experience & Hospitality

• Create a culture where every guest feels welcomed, recognized, respected, and genuinely cared for.
• Maintain a strong presence in the dining room, personally engaging with guests and supporting the team throughout service.
• Coach employees to understand that great hospitality is not only about executing service correctly, but creating meaningful connections.
• Encourage the team to anticipate needs, recognize personal details, and find thoughtful ways to personalize the guest experience.
• Recognize celebrations, returning guests, dietary or accessibility needs, and known preferences while ensuring details are communicated throughout the team.
• Empower employees to use creativity, good judgment, and genuine care to create memorable moments.
• Resolve guest concerns with empathy, accountability, and urgency while working to rebuild trust and loyalty.
• Ensure every guest receives the same level of warmth, dignity, and attention.

Operations & Financial Performance

• Oversee daily restaurant operations and ensure consistent execution across front and back of house.
• Manage sales, labor, food and beverage costs, inventory, purchasing, and profitability.
• Monitor budgets, forecasts, operating results, and key performance metrics.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, control costs, reduce waste, and strengthen performance.
• Oversee scheduling and staffing based on business needs.
• Maintain company, health, safety, and operational standards.
• Anticipate challenges and implement effective solutions while maintaining professionalism under pressure.

Beverage & Brand Standards

• Support the execution and profitability of Mayahuel’s wine, cocktail, and agave-focused beverage program.
• Ensure strong product knowledge and consistent beverage and brand standards.
