Duration:         3.5 Months – Possible Extension
Shift:                3:00 PM – 11:00 PM EST | Monday–Friday
Flexibility:        Must be willing to work weekends and cover day/night shifts when required

Description:

Job Summary

The Laboratory Technician will perform routine analytical and laboratory testing to support food safety, quality, and operational teams. The role involves product testing, laboratory equipment monitoring, documentation, calibration, and maintaining compliance with food safety and quality procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine quantitative and qualitative laboratory testing on: Raw materials, In-process materials, Final products
• Conduct product testing under intermediate supervision.
• Monitor laboratory instrumentation and ensure proper performance.
• Perform calibration checks, preventive maintenance, and basic repairs on analytical equipment.
• Maintain customer specification books and laboratory records.
• Interpret, document, and enter test results into databases.
• Communicate test results to internal customers as required.
• Support food/feed safety, quality, and regulatory programs.
• Ensure testing activities comply with applicable regulations and food safety procedures.
• Support more complex trials and experiments under supervision.
• Identify and escalate complex technical, laboratory, or customer issues.
• Perform clerical, administrative, and technical support activities.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to maintain and improve food safety and quality culture.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience or education in laboratory testing, analytical testing, food science, chemistry, or a related field.
• Ability to perform routine laboratory analysis with moderate supervision.
• Ability to monitor and perform basic maintenance on laboratory instrumentation.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation skills.
• Ability to enter and maintain test results in databases.
• Ability to read and interpret: Safety rules, Operating instructions, Maintenance instructions, Laboratory procedures
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently on routine assignments and escalate complex issues appropriately.

Work Requirements

• Onsite position in Indianapolis, IN.
• Regular schedule: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM, Monday–Friday.
• Must be flexible to work weekends when required.
• Must be flexible to cover day or night shifts based on business needs.
