About the Role

The Company is seeking an Associate Vice President for Allied Healthcare. This strategic leadership role is pivotal in driving team performance, operational excellence, and employee development within the claims division. The successful candidate will not have an individual claims caseload, allowing them to focus on leading a team of approximately six claims professionals. Key responsibilities include leading, coaching, and developing the team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement, conducting file audits, and monitoring team performance through various metrics. The AVP will also be responsible for delivering performance reports, providing strategic recommendations, and partnering with senior leadership on workforce planning and organizational initiatives. Applicants for the AVP position should have a minimum of 2 years' of people leadership experience, with a proven ability to coach, develop, and hold teams accountable. A background in claims handling, particularly with bodily injury exposures, or experience as a practicing attorney, is essential. The ideal candidate will have a strong preference for experience in medical professional liability, professional liability, or allied healthcare. Strong leadership capabilities, a track record of improving team performance, and the ability to navigate challenging performance conversations are also required. The role demands a professional who is comfortable using data and operational reporting to drive business decisions and is adept at fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
