Job Description 2026 Underwriting Trainee, Environmental Conshohocken, PA The Trainee Program is an 18‑month program beginning in early July 2026 that equips you with essential business and technical skills for a career in insurance. As an Underwriting Trainee, you work alongside experienced underwriters to gain in-depth knowledge of our business units and underwriting philosophy through on‑the‑job learning, workplace mentoring, and a rigorous curriculum including negotiation, risk analysis and relationship management. What to Expect On‑The‑Job Learning Insurance requires a high degree of experience. Trainees immerse in daily activities, assisting Underwriters with exposure analysis, operational analysis of insureds, compiling competitor analysis, developing renewal lists with Underwriting Assistants, contacting brokers for submissions, and accompanying Underwriters during internal meetings and occasional external marketing calls. Activities, Learning and Development Directed Self‑Study Professional designation courses provide technical knowledge of insurance operations and industry practices. We support employees pursuing continuing education by covering fees and textbooks, offering time off to take exams, and providing additional compensation for successful completion. Career Development Support We encourage strengthening skills and expanding business understanding. Trainees receive professional development training on various topics aligned with their business unit. Qualifications, Skills and Experience We consider graduating seniors and recent college graduates with internship experience in insurance, financial services, marketing or sales. Bachelor’s degree Graduation date between May 2025 and May 2026 Genuine interest in a career in the insurance industry Ability to articulate ideas clearly through written and verbal communication Solution‑oriented mindset and data analytical skills Ability to work independently and collaborate with others Adaptability to new challenges and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment Demonstrated integrity and reliability in fulfilling roles and responsibilities Detail‑oriented, organized, and tech‑savvy (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Local to desired office location or able to arrange housing and transportation in the area to support an in‑office working arrangement while in the Trainee Program Eligible candidates must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States without restriction Salary Range $70,000 – $77,500 (actual compensation depends on several factors including location, qualifications, and experience).
