Exciting contract opportunities are available for experienced Special Education Teachers passionate about supporting middle school learners. Contribute your expertise in a dynamic educational setting and help shape student success during the 2024-2025 school year and beyond.
Position Overview:
Full-time Special Education Teachers are sought for roles beginning with training and pre-planning in late July, and continuing through the school year from August to late May. Successful candidates will play a key part in fostering an inclusive, engaging classroom where all students are empowered to excel. Assignments will be full-time (37.5–40 hours per week) with caseloads to be confirmed.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active GaPSC Special Education General Curriculum certification required, with coverage for middle school (grades 6–8)
- Ability to participate in New SPED Training beginning July 29 and Teacher Pre-Planning from July 31 to August 4
- Previous experience within a school setting preferred
- Adaptable, collaborative, and committed to supporting diverse student needs
- Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development
- Additional endorsements may be requested
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and adapt curriculum to meet individual learning plans for students with varying disabilities
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and parents
- Participate in IEP meetings, progress monitoring, and compliance activities
- Support positive behavior interventions and inclusive classroom environments
- Maintain accurate records and provide regular student progress updates
