General ManagerEmployer: Edge Sports Global Location: Various Facilities- Rhode IslandResponsibilitiesFacility OperationsOversee daily operation of the ice rink and surrounding facilitiesSchedule public skating, hockey, figure skating, lessons, rentals, and special eventsEnsure ice quality through resurfacing and maintenance coordinationMonitor refrigeration, HVAC, lighting, and facility systemsCoordinate opening and closing proceduresMaintain cleanliness and overall appearance of the facilityIce Maintenance & SafetySupervise ice resurfacing operations using equipment such as a ZamboniMonitor ice thickness and temperatureEnsure compliance with safety regulations and risk-management policiesConduct routine safety inspections of boards, glass, locker rooms, bleachers, and exitsRespond to accidents, injuries, and emergency situationsMaintain incident and accident reportsStaff SupervisionHire, train, schedule, and supervise rink employeesManage rink employees; (such as; Zamboni drivers, rink attendants, maintenance staff, cleaners)Conduct employee evaluations and disciplinary actionsEnsure staff certifications and training remain currentDevelop team communication and operational proceduresCustomer ServiceAddress customer questions, complaints, and concernsEnsure a safe and enjoyable guest experienceCoordinate memberships, rentals, and group bookingsBuild relationships with local hockey leagues, schools, and skating clubsSupport community outreach and promotional programsFinancial ManagementPrepare and manage budgetsMonitor revenue and operating expensesHandle cash management and reporting proceduresApprove purchases and vendor contractsTrack attendance, sales, and program performanceAssist with pricing strategies and financial forecastingEvent & Program CoordinationOrganize tournaments, competitions, birthday parties, and special eventsCoordinate ice time allocation among teams and programsWork with coaches, referees, instructors, and league organizersPromote seasonal programs and community eventsCompliance & AdministrationEnsure compliance with local, state, and federal regulationsMaintain permits, insurance documentation, and operational recordsDevelop policies and emergency action plansCoordinate inspections and regulatory reportingMarketing & Community RelationsSupport advertising and social media effortsPromote skating programs and public eventsDevelop partnerships with schools, youth organizations, and sponsorsIncrease participation and customer retention
