Job Summary As the Pediatric Nursing Department Manager, you will ensure high quality, patient‑centered care through oversight of the overall daily function and staffing of the department. Responsibilities You will monitor and evaluate the provision of nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures, and hold staff accountable for quality and clinical outcomes in support of facility objectives. You will ensure adherence to standards of care, and ensure a culture of accountability and transparency in the provision of care. You will support efforts to reduce variation in clinical practice and improve efficiency, effectiveness, and cost. You will support the achievement of internal and external benchmarks, accreditations, and designations. You will ensure equipment maintenance is performed regularly and according to standards. You will manage the admissions and discharge process to ensure high‑quality, patient‑centered care. You will facilitate effective care coordination within and across departments, and ensure staff with appropriate clinical competencies are assigned to meet patient care needs. You will manage the nursing practice and unit operations. You will provide leadership to attain and sustain an excellent patient experience, and instill accountability for providing consistent, positive patient interactions. You will review feedback mechanisms to identify areas of improvement, and support strategies that will elevate the patient experience. You will ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulatory standards. You will support a patient‑first philosophy and engage in service recovery when needed. You will inspire commitment to the mission, vision, and values of the organization and implement employee engagement practices. You will identify development opportunities or training needs of employees and teams, and provide coaching and feedback to improve performance. You will attract, develop, engage, and retain talent to meet business needs. You will be responsible for resolving or channeling employee grievances, disputes, or concerns. You will participate in company‑supported community and patient events and in‑services. You will manage staff scheduling in accordance with productivity guidelines. You will manage operating expenses, identify cost reduction opportunities, and implement actions to achieve savings. Qualifications 1+ years experience in a healthcare setting - required. 1+ years experience in a leadership role - preferred. Bachelor's degree in Nursing - required. Master's degree in Nursing - preferred. Current Registered Nurse or active Compact license in the state of Texas - required. Basic Life Support certification - required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification - required. Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification (PALS) - required within 90 days of hire. Certified Pediatric Nurse (CPN) - preferred.
