Pharmacy Technician - Outpatient

Job Description La Rabida Children’s Hospital is seeking a qualified Pharmacy Technician to support outpatient pharmacy operations. Primary Responsibilities Fill and prepare outpatient prescriptions under pharmacist supervision. Support Meds-to-Beds medication delivery. Maintain medication inventory, stocking, and ordering. Answer phones and assist patients, families, and providers. Process insurance claims and prior authorizations. Coordinate refills and resolve coverage issues. Provide customer‑focused service. Support daily pharmacy operations and special projects. Additional Functions Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Related Work Experience: 1–2 years of outpatient pharmacy tech experience preferred. Licensure/Certification: Illinois Registered Pharmacy Technician License. Specialized Knowledge and Skills: Must be physically able to handle and manipulate various medication preparation materials (IV and oral syringes, bottles, vials, bags, etc.).
