This position is perfect for an attorney with experience in litigation, employment law, or personal injury who wishes to shift into a settlement-focused and administrative role. The firm passionately represents employees across California in diverse employment matters, such as wage & hour disputes, PAGA claims, discrimination, retaliation, harassment, and class action litigation. The ideal candidate will be exceptionally organized, detail-oriented, and adept at managing settlement tasks from negotiations through to final resolution. General Responsibilities Oversee settlement-related matters from negotiation to resolution and administration. Maintain regular communication with clients, opposing counsel, settlement administrators, and internal staff regarding settlement status and requirements. Coordinate and supervise settlement timelines, deadlines, and essential documentation. Review and aid in drafting settlement agreements, releases, and related settlement paperwork. Monitor court filings, proposed orders, and the overall settlement approval process. Collaborate with accounting and operations teams regarding settlement distributions and financial tracking. Provide strategic insight into settlement structures, negotiations, and overall resolution strategies. Ensure timely client communications, finalize agreements, and manage settlement disbursements effectively. Preparation Responsibilities Draft and edit settlement agreements for various employment litigation matters, including wage & hour and PAGA claims. Prepare all settlement-related filings, declarations, proposed orders, and supporting documentation. Draft motions for preliminary and final approval in class and representative actions as necessary. Manage preparation of dismissal documents, amended orders, and settlement administration materials. Collaborate with settlement administrators on class notices, timelines, and administrative requirements. Assist in calculating settlements, distributions, and drafting resolution documentation. Qualifications Active California Bar license in good standing. A minimum of 2 years of litigation experience in employment law, personal injury, or civil litigation. Experience with settlements, mediation, or litigation resolutions is highly preferred. Prior experience in plaintiff-side employment litigation is a plus, though not mandatory. Exemplary organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail. Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. Comfortable working collaboratively with attorneys, staff, and clients. Preferred Skills Experience navigating California employment-related settlements, particularly in wage & hour and PAGA matters. Bilingual skills are a benefit, but not necessary. Proficiency with Filevine, GSuite, Microsoft Office, Adobe, Excel, or similar legal software platforms.
