Histo Technician- PathologyQualifications: High school graduate. Two years training in histochemistry and histologic technique. Certification as a Histotechnician by ASCP or other nationally recognized certification agency (acceptability of the certifying agency to be determined by the Administrative Director). Certification must be maintained during employment with Archbold Memorial Hospital. Continuing education and competency assessment mandatory during employment at AMH.Responsibilities:The employee utilizes appropriate histology and cytology specimen processing technique. Demonstrates knowledge of fixative and reagent use, specimen grossing, processing, and embedding procedure.The employee utilizes appropriate microtomy technique. Demonstrates knowledge of microtomy skills and standard laboratory operating procedure for specimen sectioning.The employee utilizes appropriate histology and cytology staining technique.
