We offer excellent benefits and supply you with the tools you need to maximize your potential.Benefits include:Paid Time Off (PTO) Plan - Up to 96 hours of PTO in your first year + 8 company paid holidaysMedical, dental, and vision insuranceLife and AD&D Insurance401K eligible employees can receive a company contribution up to 7%Tuition ReimbursementEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)CEFCU - Employees have access to services including payroll deductions, savings, accounts, loans, VISA card and moreAdditional Benefits include Supplemental life Insurance, Critical Illness + Accidental Insurance, ID WatchDog and discounted employee phone plansUnder minimal supervision, the Class A Technician is responsible for the diagnosis, repair, reconditioning, overhaul and maintenance of customer and company heavy equipment and/or components in a manner that reflects the company's vision of working as "One Professional Team."Pay Rate: $34.50 - $50.60 per hour Pay rate is dependent upon education & experience.Essential Functions:Prepares accurate and complete service reports and turns them in on timePrepares inspection and appraisal reportsCorrectly charges work to appropriate work order segmentsCommunicates effectively with Service Writer, Shop Coordinators and Shop Managers to ensure problems, nature of repair, and status of repairs are understood and followed up onCleans, repairs, reconditions, and maintains equipment and componentPrepares, inspects, and operates machines prior to deliveryRemoves, disassembles, assembles, and installs components and partsDetermines reusability of parts in accordance with published Caterpillar reusability guidelinesOrders replacement parts ensuring that parts orders are correct and complete at the time of orderServices and maintains equipment sold and/or owned by the companyTests measures, and adjusts engine and machine systems and componentsDiagnoses and troubleshoots machine and engine malfunctions and failuresAnalyzes customer repair and maintenance requirementsKeeps up to date with developments in tooling, technologies and systemsUses safe working practices and follows all company safety requirementsMaintains a clean and organized work areaPerforms maintenance activities on new and rebuilt/repaired equipmentMakes recommendations as to repairs meeting warranty criteriaMakes parts replacement decisions assuring optimum economic reusabilityOther duties as assigned by managerRequired Education and Experience:High School Diploma or GED4+ years' experience in heavy equipment, engine, or electric power generation system repair1+ years administrative/clerical experience3+ years customer service experiencePreferred Experience:Graduation from an accredited technical school in diesel engine or earthmoving repair preferredRepair and maintenance on equipment of various manufacturers to include Metso, McCloskey, Masaba and J &MRepair/service/rebuild knowledge of Rock Crushers (Jaw, Cone, Impact) both stationary and mobile track units.Repair/service/rebuild knowledge of Screen Plants both stationary and mobile track units.Repair/service/rebuild knowledge of Conveyors both stationary and mobile units.Knowledge of machine conveyor belt replacement/repairs/adjustments.CAT Engine Tier 4 Emissions/DiagnosticsElectrical and hydraulic troubleshooting experience (Both Cat and Manufacturer systems)Replacement of wear items: Blow bars, cone liners, wear plates, screens, flashing, etc.Welding and fabricationMachine inspections for Rental Fleet return units and New Machine Pre-deliverySupervisory Responsibilities:Provides direction, training, mentoring and guidance to assigned service techniciansCompetencies:Safety KnowledgeReading/Writing SkillsReasoning SkillsOrganizational SkillsCommunication SkillsMath SkillsProduct KnowledgeBasic ability to search for and enter data into a computerAbility to type service reportsPhysical Demands:StandingWalkingTalkingUse of HandsHearingSquatting/KneelingAscending or descending ladders, stairs, etc.Heavy work that includes carrying, lifting and/or moving objects up to 100 pounds or moreWork Environment:Noise: LoudIndoors and OutdoorsOther Duties:Job Offers are contingent upon all required pre-employment screenings which may include but are not limited to background checks, drug/alcohol testing, fit for duty testing, and any other job-related tests/screenings.Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
