Radiology Technologist Assistant The Radiology Technologist Assistant assists the department with various clerical responsibilities, prepares rooms for patients, cleans rooms after patients, stocks supplies and linen, transports patients, answers phones, communicates with technologists, and plays an integral part in delivering a positive patient experience. General Duties Transport patients throughout the radiology department, including to and from the emergency department or inpatient units. Facilitate patient preparation for examinations, including dressing patients and assisting patients off and on examination tables. Set up rooms for examinations or procedures and maintain exam rooms and work areas in a neat and safe condition to ensure safety for patients and employees. Recognize emergent situations and respond appropriately; call codes as needed. Identify orders in Epic, coordinate with technologists and radiologists when protocols are needed for examinations, and check current lab values for patients receiving contrast. Adhere to body substance isolation policies and demonstrate safety for patients, staff, and self in accordance with department and hospital protocols and regulatory guidelines. Answer telephone calls, take messages, and return calls when instructed. Minimum Qualifications High School Graduate or Equivalent. Licenses and Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association. Work Shift Variable Hours (United States of America).
