Experienced Interior Architectural Designer (8+ years of experience) COOKFOX Architects is seeking a creative Interior Architectural Designer (8 or more years of experience) to lead the design and execution of highly crafted, award-winning interior spaces collaboratively with our senior interior architects. The position focuses on the interior architectural scope and includes the selection of finishes and fixtures, the development of architectural and millwork details, and the coordination of trades including MEP and lighting. Candidates should have an expressed interest in working in a collaborative studio environment and a passion for environmental sustainability. Key Responsibilities: Lead and support the interior architectural team from concept through construction administration. Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced interior architectural designers. Research and select materials, finishes and fixtures aligning with design intent and sustainability goals. Develop and review technical details for construction documentation. Coordinate with consultants such as MEP engineers, lighting designers, and custom fabricators. Focus and ensure quality control and execution in alignment with COOKFOX standards. Integrate environmentally responsible practices and healthy material selections. Qualifications and Skills: 8 or more years professional experience in an architectural or interior design studio Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Architecture or Interior Design Experience working on multiple interiors project types: high-end, multi-family residential and/or hospitality experience preferred Knowledge of interiors-related building codes and standards; sustainability and health and wellness standards a plus Strong leadership, management and mentorship skills Exceptional communication skills and professionalism in dealing with diverse clients, consultants, and vendors Self-motivated, energetic, and organized Proficiency in Revit and Adobe Suite required; SketchUp and AutoCad a plus COOKFOX Architects is a New York City-based studio dedicated to integrated, environmentally responsive design. The annual salary range for this position is $90,000-$110,000, determined by the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
