Join Our Team as a Packaging TechnicianThe Packaging Technician assembles and packages diagnostic test kits used in the food safety industry according to Standard Operating Procedures ensuring accuracy and quality throughout the process.1st Shift Schedule: M-Thurs 5:00am-3:30pmEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Assembles diagnostic test kitsLabels componentsCompletes production paperworkPerforms final inspections, weights, and counts of items to ensure they meet production standardsMaintains general cleanliness and organization of physical areas responsible forMay work at different stations as production needs requirePerform tasks according to the appropriate Standard Manufacturing Procedure (SMP) or Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)Follow International Organization for Standardization (ISO) guidelines in the manufacture of all reagentsUse good manufacturing procedures (GMP) and good documentation practices (GDP) in the manufacture of all reagentsMaintains the general cleanliness and organization of work areas using lean processes and 5SAdheres to any and all safety rules and regulations, including personal protective equipment, proper use of equipment, proper disposal of any and all materials etc.Perform repetitive tasks for extended periods of time, while maintaining attention to detailMaintains equipment and facilitiesDispenses bulk solutions through the use of semi-automated equipment.Assist in physical inventories as requiredAid in supply managementPerform other duties as assigned by your supervisor and/or managerComply with and promote all corporate handbook policiesComply with, promote and strive to achieve all corporate and departmental goalsComply with, promote and strive to achieve all productivity, quality, and behavior expectations.Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Education and Experience: High school education; or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.A minimum tenure of 1 year in the Packaging Assistant I position is required to be met before consideration for promotion to the next position level: Packaging Assistant II.Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers, multiply and divide with 10's and 100's and calculate percent. Ability to perform these calculations using units of American weight and measurement.Language Skills: Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to read, write and speak simple sentences in English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedural documents.Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
