Registered Nurse Labor and Delivery

$2423.52/week –

Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery provides comprehensive prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care to patients. This role involves evaluating patient conditions, administering medications, and supporting families through the childbirth process to ensure safety and comfort.

Responsibilities:

• Perform head-to-toe assessments on patients and conduct scheduled reassessments according to hospital policy.
• Assess and manage pain levels using appropriate evaluation tools and deliver effective pain relief techniques, educating patients and families on pain management options.
• Develop, revise, and evaluate individualized care plans based on patient responses and needs to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Administer medications accurately, following the five rights, and based on clinical protocols considering patient age and condition.
• Educate patients and families on health needs, procedures, and post-discharge care, evaluating the effectiveness of teaching interventions.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary care by communicating with physicians, other healthcare providers, and support staff to meet patient needs.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of one year of Labor and Delivery nursing experience required.
• Current and active Ohio or compact state nursing license.
• Valid BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications through AHA are mandatory; certifications must be current at start date.
• BSN degree preferred.
• COVID vaccination card required if vaccinated.
• Strong ability to perform technical skills and manual procedures within scope of practice.
