Software Quality Engineer III

This role will focus on ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and consistency for large-scale applications, while also driving automation strategies to increase efficiency and reliability across our QA processes.

Essential Job Responsibilities Include:

• Functional End to End Test Strategy

• Shift left mindset with close collaboration with BA, Developers during SDLC and Agile development phases.

• Document thorough and high-quality end to end test scripts.

• Responsible for setting up test beds and test data.

• Use AI to improve test efficiencies.

• Automation Development

• Develop scalable automation frameworks or enhance existing ones for data validation, UI and API testing using Cypress.

• Build automated test script and framework for both front end and backend.

• Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines to ensure continuous quality coverage.

• Quality Strategy & Collaboration

• Partner closely with Data Engineering and Product teams to understand system architecture and data flows.

• Author and execute thorough and detailed test cases and test plans.

• Identify gaps in test coverage and lead initiatives to enhance validation processes.

• Mentor junior QA engineers on data testing, SQL, automation practices, and best-in-class quality strategies.

• Works independently with minimal supervision, requiring guidance only for highly complex issues.

• Defect Investigation & Troubleshooting

• Investigate data discrepancies by analyzing logs, SQL queries, API payloads, and backend services.

• Work with engineering teams to isolate root causes and ensure timely resolution.

Required Skills / Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business, or other related field, or equivalent experience.

• 5-8+ years of experience in Software Quality Engineering, with a strong focus on Functional, regression and end to end test strategy.

• Must have test automation experience preferably with Cypress.

• Knowledge of mobile device testing using Browser Stack, Android Studio or any emulators.

• Strong understanding of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server).

• Experience with AI tools such as Cursor, CoPilot, Amazon Q.

• Hands-on experience testing APIs and backend services.

• Proficiency in an automation language such as Python, Java, or JavaScript.

• Experience building or maintaining automation frameworks for data validation or backend testing using Cypress.

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum and CI/CD environments.

• Experience with backlog and defect management tools such as Jira, ADO etc.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS) and database services.

• Familiarity with Cypress automation testing framework.

• Background in analytics, data engineering concepts.

• Experience working with large datasets and performance/scale testing.

• Experience in healthcare/benefit management systems is a huge plus.

Based on relevant market data and other factors, the anticipated hiring range for this role is $85,0 00 to $100 ,000 annually. Final compensation rates will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, and internal equity considerations. This role is also short-term incentive eligible. Incentive amounts will vary by individual and business goals.
