Job Description Clinical Exercise Physiologist - Henry Ford Health Job Title Clinical Exercise Physiologist - Part Time - 20 Hours About the Department Join the Henry Ford Medical Group, one of Michigan's largest physician organizations, dedicated to delivering coordinated care across primary and specialty practices. As part of our multidisciplinary team, you’ll work in a collaborative environment with access to leading clinical resources, contributing to innovative programs like Cardiac Rehabilitation, Pulmonary Rehabilitation, and Supervised Exercise Therapy. Our team is committed to improving patient outcomes through specialized care for diverse populations, including the elderly, frail adults, children, and those with intellectual disabilities. Role Overview As a Clinical Exercise Physiologist, you’ll evaluate acute and chronic responses to exercise in individuals with varying health statuses, from apparently healthy to those with complex chronic diseases. You’ll implement behavior change techniques to promote healthy lifestyles, administer exercise stress tests, and supervise clinic-based exercise training programs. Your work will directly support patients with cardiovascular, pulmonary, metabolic, and other chronic conditions, helping them achieve better health outcomes. What You Will Do Evaluate acute and chronic responses to exercise in diverse patient populations. Administer exercise stress tests and supervise clinic-based exercise training programs. Provide physical activity counseling and behavior change techniques to promote adherence to healthy lifestyles. Obtain medical histories, review medications, assess symptoms, and interpret ECGs during rest and exercise. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive patient care. Qualifications What You Will Need Required Qualifications Bachelor's or graduate degree in exercise science/physiology or related field. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for the healthcare provider. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 1 year of hire. Preferred Qualifications Experience in a clinical exercise setting. American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Clinical Exercise Physiologist (ACSM-CEP) certification.
