FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER II - LINAC SYSTEMS

Location: Cedar Rapids, IA
Base Salary: $110,000-$120,000
Signing Bonus: $5,000
Experience: 2+ Years of Varian TrueBeam Service Experience

POSITION OVERVIEW

Our client, a nationwide medical-equipment service organization, is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer II to independently service and support Varian TrueBeam linear accelerator (LINAC) systems .

This role is designed for a fully trained LINAC engineer capable of independently diagnosing equipment issues, completing repairs, and managing customer relationships in the field.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair Varian TrueBeam LINAC systems .
• Complete field repairs and return equipment to manufacturer specifications.
• Troubleshoot electronic, electromechanical, mechanical, software, networking, imaging, and vacuum-related issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance and installation support.
• Serve as the primary technical contact for assigned customer accounts.
• Provide remote technical support to customers and other engineers.
• Manage spare-parts inventory and urgent replacement needs.
• Document service visits and repairs in Salesforce.
• Support approximately 2-3 machines within the assigned territory.
• Participate in 24/7/365 service coverage and emergency response.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING
• 2+ years of hands-on Varian TrueBeam service experience required.
• Ability to independently diagnose and repair LINAC equipment.
• Strong electronic and electromechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with test equipment, calibration, and equipment verification.
• Ability to troubleshoot PC systems, software, and basic networking issues.
• Ability to identify imaging, mechanical, and basic vacuum-system issues.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel as required.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Flexibility to work non-standard hours when needed.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
• Formal Varian TrueBeam OEM training .
• Elekta LINAC or Varian C-Series experience.
• Radiation oncology, hospital, or cancer center experience.
• Salesforce or similar service-management software.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
