Staff Accountant

Location: Placentia, CA

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Full Onsite

Location: Placentia

Pay Rate: $30-$35/hour

Temporary with strong possibility of temp to hire

We are seeking a Staff Accountant for a long-term temporary opportunity with the potential to become permanent. This role will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting functions, month-end close, financial reporting, payroll processing, and oversight of the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post journal entries and maintain the general ledger
• Perform monthly bank, credit card, and account reconciliations
• Lead the month-end close process and assist with year-end activities
• Prepare monthly financial statements, including Balance Sheet, P&L, and Cash Flow reports
• Process bi-weekly payroll for approximately 45 employees
• Oversee the daily activities of the AP and AR Clerks, ensuring accuracy and timely processing
• Review aging reports, payment approvals, and account discrepancies
• Support audit requests and assist with tax-related documentation
• Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of accounting experience with hands-on general ledger responsibility
• Experience preparing financial statements and managing month-end close
• Full-cycle payroll experience required
• Strong Excel skills required, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and formulas
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
