Welder I

PPS is seeking a detail‑oriented Welder I to join our team in Chandler at our state‑of‑the‑art semiconductor facility! The Welder I joins, fabricates, and repairs metals and other wieldable materials with precision. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Performs welding activities with minimum instructions and supervision. Sets up welding equipment in accordance with the appropriate Weld Process Specifications (WPS). Completes weldments to the applied AWS welding code and blueprint requirements. Utilizes material handling equipment in conjunction with the welding task. Performs minor maintenance on job related equipment. Assumes responsibility and care of assigned tools and equipment. Observes and practices safety procedures and policies. Performs other duties as required. Attendance is an essential job function. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of TIG/MIG welding procedures & processes. Experience working with steel, aluminum, and stainless steel preferred. Ability to read and interpret written information and follow directions. Ability to perform welds that pass a visual inspection and destructive test. Ability to use measuring tools (tape measures, squares, rulers, and dial calipers). Basic math skills; must be able to perform conversions and basic calculations. Knowledge of welding machines and set up. Ability to operate hand/air tools and electric grinders. Educational/Certification Requirement High School diploma or equivalent experience. Work Experience 1+ years of experience in welding. Work Environment Work is performed primarily in a manufacturing environment. Physical Demands Ability to exert up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move object. Prolonged standing and bending intermittently during work hours. Is subject to frequent interruptions. Ability to move arms, hands, and fingers to type. Close vision required. Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push, pull, grasp. Environmental Exposure May involve exposure to noise hazard area. Required to wear PPE where applicable.
