Role Description The Legal Assistant – Litigation in Miami, Florida is a full-time, on-site role supporting attorneys in all phases of litigation. This position involves preparing, formatting, and organizing legal documents and pleadings, managing case files and calendars, and assisting with court filings and electronic document submission. The Legal Assistant will coordinate communications with clients, courts, and opposing counsel, schedule meetings and depositions, and help maintain accurate records and deadlines. Daily responsibilities also include general administrative support such as drafting correspondence, organizing discovery materials, and assisting with trial preparation and hearing logistics. The role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced office environment.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess a solid understanding of law and litigation processes, including familiarity with court rules, procedures, and legal terminology.
• Candidates should possess skills in legal document preparation, including drafting, formatting, proofreading, and organizing pleadings, motions, discovery, and correspondence.
• Candidates should possess strong communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication, professional client interaction, and effective collaboration with attorneys and staff.
• Candidates should possess administrative assistance skills, including scheduling, file management, data entry, and efficient use of office software and legal practice management tools.
• Candidates should possess experience working as legal assistants or in similar legal support roles within a litigation practice.
• Additional beneficial qualifications include prior law firm or litigation experience, familiarity with e-filing systems, strong time-management abilities, and a detail-oriented approach to handling sensitive information.
• An associate’s degree, paralegal or legal assistant certificate, or equivalent experience in a legal environment is preferred.
