Overview Speech Language Pathologist – Acute Care | Hilo, HI, US | Start 09/21/2026 | 26 weeks | $2,613–$2,759 per week | Days shift | Travel assignment in a hospital-based setting Key Highlights Weekly pay: $2,613–$2,759 per week Contract duration: 26 weeks Shift: Days Start date: 09/21/2026 Work setting: hospital-based acute care rehabilitation Onboarding: EMR training (Epic) and rehab area orientation provided Responsibilities Independently perform and interpret Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBS) in radiology without radiologist supervision Conduct comprehensive SLP evaluations and develop, implement, and monitor dysphagia, communication, and cognitive-communication treatment plans for adults in acute care and rehabilitation settings Provide acute care dysphagia therapy and related rehabilitation services; coordinate with SNF rehabilitation when appropriate Document assessments, treatment plans, and progress in the inpatient EMR (Meditech); prepare outpatient documentation as needed Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (nursing, physicians, radiology, dietetics, therapy) and manage referrals to outpatient care when indicated Deliver patient and family education; participate in discharge planning and ensure infection control and safety standards are followed Requirements Active Hawaii state license in Speech-Language Pathology by start of assignment; travelers not yet licensed must apply and obtain HI licensure prior to start Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Minimum 2 years of experience in acute care, SNF, or rehabilitation hospital settings Proficiency in performing Modified Barium Swallow Studies independently Experience with EMR documentation (Meditech); EMR training provided Ability to float to other units/departments as census and staffing require; flexible scheduling including weekend coverage Benefits and Support EMR documentation training and rehab area orientation provided Pre-start health appointment coordination and onboarding logistics 26-week travel assignment with dedicated onboarding support Onsite collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and clinical guidance as needed Support from Healthforce Healthcare LLC throughout the assignment #J-18808-Ljbffr Healthforce
