Lead CNC Machinist

Key Responsibilities

• Lead prototype development and production
• 5-axis programming
• Work with engineers on custom projects
• Program and operate CNC machines for complex parts
• Program complex parts using provided CAD/CAM software
• Inspection using manual gauges and instruments
• Understanding of GD&T and ability to read 2-D drawings
• Monitor and inspect the part throughout the machining process
• Observe all company quality and safety procedures
• Communicates and collaborates with team members in the sharing of information and solving technical issues
• Participates in Lean manufacturing events
• Team Lead (Optional): Oversee team of machinist, provide technical direction, and manage projects

Qualifications/Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Associate degree in a relevant field or (5+) years of experience
• Expertise in CNC programming, 5-axis machining
• Ability to read and interpret complex technical specifications
• Expertise in working with exotic materials and tight tolerances
• Strong work ethic and high attention to detail
• Flexible, ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
• Able to manage sensitive and sometimes confidential information
• Great communication skills
• Team Lead (Optional): Experience mentoring or supervision junior staff, leadership skill, experience managing projects or teams of varying skill level.
