Site Civil Engineer

Job Description

The Engineering Project Designer contributes to the execution of civil engineering projects from initial concept through construction. This role focuses on developing design solutions, preparing construction documents, and coordinating with internal teams and external partners. Working under the guidance of a Project Manager, the position requires strong technical ability, organization, and attention to detail to ensure successful project delivery.

Primary Responsibilities

• Civil Design
\n
• Develop engineering designs for site layout, grading, drainage, and utilities
\n
• Produce clear, accurate drawings and construction documents
\n
• Apply engineering standards, codes, and practical construction knowledge
\n
• Resolve routine design challenges and elevate complex issues when needed
\n
• Project Execution
\n
• Organize and track assigned work to meet deadlines and budgets
\n
• Work closely with project leadership to support overall project goals
\n
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to maintain consistency across designs
\n
• Assist with permitting efforts and agency coordination
\n
• Documentation & Quality Assurance
\n
• Prepare and review technical specifications and project documents
\n
• Verify accuracy and completeness of plans and reports
\n
• Review contractor submittals and drawings for alignment with design intent
\n
• Construction Phase Support
\n
• Attend site visits to monitor progress and field conditions
\n
• Help address RFIs and construction-related questions
\n
• Support final documentation and project closeout activities
\n

Required Qualifications

\n
• Solid understanding of civil/site engineering design practices
\n
• Strong time management and organizational skills
\n
• Effective communication and collaboration abilities
\n
• Detail-oriented with sound engineering judgment
\n
• Capable of handling multiple assignments in a fast-paced setting
\n
• Technical Skills
\n
• Experience with AutoCAD or Civil 3D required
\n
• Familiarity with Revit and other design/visualization tools is a plus
\n
• Working knowledge of permitting processes and applicable regulations
\n
• Education & Experience
\n
• Degree in Engineering (Bachelor’s or higher)
\n
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
\n
• EIT certification or Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
\n
