The Learning Experience South Lyon Township is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Preschool Cook to join our team as an Ambassador of Happiness. As our Preschool Cook, you will play an important role in supporting the health, growth, and well-being of the children in our care by preparing nutritious meals and snacks each day. What You'll Do

• Plan, prepare, and serve healthy meals and snacks that meet nutritional requirements for young children
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, handling, and storage procedures
• Maintain accurate records of food allergies and dietary restrictions to ensure child safety
• Communicate allergy information and menu details with classroom teachers daily
• Monitor food inventory and collaborate with center leadership on ordering supplies
• Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and inspection-ready at all times
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain positive relationships with children, families, and team members
• Remain flexible and adaptable to the daily needs of a busy childcare center

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum 1 year of food preparation or cooking experience required
• Food Handler Certification required or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
• Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Reliable, positive, and comfortable working in an early childhood education environment
