Sr. Associate, Energy Design Engineering

Sr. Associate, Energy Design Engineering The Sport & Games Delivery Team is organized around venue infrastructure and aims to deliver seamless, innovative, and engaging Games experiences. The Energy Team, within this team, is responsible for ensuring end‑to‑end delivery of power to all Games venues and facilities, coordinating with external utilities, government organizations, and temporary power providers. Reporting to the Director of Energy Design Engineering, the Senior Associate will support the Energy Design Engineering Team, which designs all temporary electrical overlays and validates high‑voltage projects with the Games Energy Council. The role includes performing detailed electrical studies, risk analysis, and risk‑mitigation studies. Key Responsibilities Develop detailed electrical studies to determine load requirements. Perform energy capacity analysis and identify gaps in existing service supply. Analyze energy‑related risks to venue power supply and recommend solutions for loading, reliability, and resiliency. Track design revisions from Venue Management and evaluate impacts on Energy designs for temporary power provider overlays. Support integration of internal stakeholders with external delivery partners, including temporary power providers and electrical design engineers. Help execute approval and review processes for establishing Energy technical requirements for Games Energy overlay. Establish close working relationships with key functional areas (Venue Infrastructure, Technology, Broadcast, etc.) to align Energy design development with cross‑functional planning timelines. Work with the International Olympic Committee and International Paralympic Committee to understand mandatory Energy requirements and accelerate approval processes. Coordinate with the Energy Program Management Team to plan mandatory mandatory mandate mandatory volley mandatory mandatory mandatory Background & Requirements Experience with electrical design development. Experience implementing energy solutions into electrical design. Demonstrated commitment to co‑creation and collaborative decision‑making. Experience working with a diverse range of stakeholders and proven success at building excellent working relationships. Expectations Extremely detail oriented with excellent organization skills. Fluent with Office suite products (Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint). Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM360 preferred. Present information concisely to executive leadership, external contractors, advisors, and governmental agencies. Experience working with electric utilities and/or temporary power providers preferred. Well‑developed problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently to resolve issues. Strong communication, team‑building, and interpersonal skills. Self‑starter with experience in defining tasks, seeking feedback, and evolving work. Collaborative mindset prioritizing team performance without ego. Innovative viewpoint challenging the status quo and anticipating future needs of the Movement. Ability to implement and manage change effectively and to mitigate risk. Education Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and 3 years of experience assessing, designing, or implementing electrical infrastructure. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Full‑time position located at the LA28 office in Los Angeles, California. Some travel to external stakeholder offices, government agencies, and Games venues and facilities. Primarily office‑based work requiring extended periods of computer use. Open‑floorplan environment; employees must work efficiently in an open cubicle setting. The annual base salary range for this position is $88,000.00 – $115,000.00. Compensation is subject to final determination based on qualifications and experience. LA28 does not provide relocation assistance.
