We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Operations Manager to support and strengthen our off-site catering operations.
Position Summary
The Off-Premise Catering Assistant Operations Manager plays a vital role in ensuring the seamless execution of off-site events by coordinating logistics, managing event staff, and overseeing equipment and inventory. You’ll work closely with the operations team, culinary staff, and clients to help deliver top-tier events with professionalism and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and coordinating all logistical aspects of off-premise catering events
- Support loading, transport, setup, and breakdown of catering equipment and supplies
- Ensure timely deliveries and pickups; manage routing and vehicle schedules
- Supervise on-site event staff to ensure service standards are met
- Communicate with kitchen and sales teams to confirm event details and requirements
- Maintain equipment and supply inventory; oversee cleanliness and organization of storage areas
- Assist in hiring, training, and scheduling part-time/on-call event staff
- Troubleshoot issues on-site during events and provide hands-on support as needed
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in catering, events, or hospitality operations (off-premise preferred)
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Leadership ability with experience supervising teams
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lift 40+ lbs, stand for extended periods, and work evenings/weekends/holidays as needed
- Valid driver’s license ( CDL or box truck experience a plus)
- ServSafe or other food safety certification preferred
