Job Description

Job Title: Foreman

Job Description

This Foreman role leads field crews on commercial foundation repair, underpinning, structural stabilization, and concrete restoration projects across Northern California. You will serve as a hands-on working leader who reads and interprets engineering plans, directs daily field operations, and acts as the primary technical resource on site. The position combines crew leadership, technical installation of specialized support systems, and a strong focus on safety, quality, and accountability in an active construction environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise field crews of approximately 3–12 employees on commercial foundation repair, underpinning, structural stabilization, concrete restoration, and building lifting projects.
  • Work as a hands-on foreman in the field, actively participating in installation activities while directing and coaching crew members.
  • Read and interpret engineering plans, drawings, and blueprints, then translate them into clear, actionable work plans for the crew.
  • Plan, organize, and execute daily jobsite activities to ensure projects stay on schedule, within scope, and meet quality standards.
  • Oversee installation of foundation repair systems, including piering systems, push piers, hydraulic jacks and lifting systems, tiebacks, and structural support solutions.
  • Set up and manage jobsite equipment, including forklifts, skid steers/Bobcats, and general construction tools, ensuring safe and efficient use.
  • Monitor work quality throughout each project, enforce company standards, and hold crews accountable for workmanship and attention to detail.
  • Maintain a strong safety culture on site by enforcing safety policies, conducting safety checks, and promoting safe work practices at all times.
  • Coordinate with operations and field leadership to align on project expectations, resource needs, and schedule requirements.
  • Troubleshoot field issues related to foundation settlement, structural stabilization, and support systems, and provide technical guidance to resolve problems.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering specifications and manufacturer guidelines for all structural repair and support systems installed.
  • Communicate clearly and consistently with crew members, leadership, and other stakeholders regarding job progress, challenges, and changes.
  • Support training and development of crew members by demonstrating proper techniques and reinforcing best practices.
  • Travel to regional project sites within California, including overnight stays when required, and represent the company professionally at all times.
  • Uphold high standards of attendance, reliability, and professionalism, setting the tone for the crew and overall jobsite performance.

Essential Skills

  • 3+ years of foreman or crew leadership experience leading construction crews of 3–12 employees.
  • 5+ years of commercial construction experience in field-based roles.
  • Proven experience with foundation repair, underpinning, structural stabilization, or concrete restoration projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering plans, drawings, and blueprints and convert them into field execution plans.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to direct, motivate, and hold crews accountable for performance and quality.
  • Strong communication skills for coordinating with crews, operations, and field leadership.
  • Commercial construction experience with hands-on field experience in structural or civil work.
  • Experience working with piering systems, push piers, hydraulic jacks or lifting systems, tiebacks, or structural support systems.
  • Experience operating forklifts and skid steers/Bobcats, as well as general construction equipment and tools.
  • OSHA 30 certification (required or strongly preferred).
  • Confined Space certification (preferred, with support available to obtain if not current).
  • Clean driving record with no major driving issues, suitable for regional travel to job sites.
  • Consistent track record of maintaining high safety standards and following safety procedures on construction sites.
  • Ability to maintain quality standards, pay close attention to detail, and ensure work meets company and engineering requirements.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in foundation repair, underpinning, geotechnical, heavy civil, or structural repair is highly desirable.
  • Experience with settlement remediation, building lifting, and structural support systems is strongly preferred.
  • Commercial concrete restoration experience, including structural and cosmetic repairs, is a plus.
  • Familiarity with structural stabilization methods and structural support solutions in commercial environments.
  • Experience setting up and managing jobsite equipment, including scaffolding and other access systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently without cutting corners, maintaining both productivity and quality.
  • Proven reliability in attendance and punctuality, with a strong sense of accountability.
  • Comfort working in confined spaces and at varying elevations as required by project conditions.
  • Willingness to travel regionally within California and occasionally to other locations as needed.
  • Interest in obtaining or maintaining additional safety and technical certifications with company support.

Why Work Here?

You join a specialized contractor focused on high-impact work in commercial foundation repair, structural stabilization, and underpinning, rather than standard construction projects. The role offers meaningful leadership responsibility with the autonomy to run crews and be recognized as the field expert. You benefit from a four-day workweek (4x10 schedule) that supports work-life balance, along with travel opportunities throughout California and occasionally Hawaii, with hotels, per diem, and meals covered when applicable. The organization maintains a strong safety culture and supports you in obtaining OSHA 30, Confined Space, and other certifications. You work with industry-leading products and warranties through a premier platform, in a growing company that offers future hiring and advancement opportunities. Leadership and ownership remain actively involved in projects, providing direct access, quick decision-making, and a fast hiring process that can include immediate feedback and on-the-spot offers. You contribute within a smaller, agile organization where your work is visible, valued, and impactful, rather than feeling like just a number.

Work Environment

This is a field-based role working primarily on commercial foundation repair, underpinning, structural stabilization, and concrete restoration projects throughout Northern California, with regional travel as needed. You operate in an active construction environment, performing hands-on work alongside your crew in varying site conditions, including existing structures, basements, and exterior foundations. The culture emphasizes safety, quality, accountability, and craftsmanship, with leadership and ownership actively engaged in day-to-day operations. You lead and supervise crews of 3–12 employees and coordinate closely with other foremen, field leadership, and operations teams to deliver projects efficiently and safely. The standard schedule follows a four-day workweek, Monday through Thursday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM (4x10s), with occasional Friday work and overtime based on project demands. You regularly use and oversee equipment such as forklifts, skid steers/Bobcats, hydraulic jacks and lifting systems, push piers, tiebacks, and a variety of general construction tools. The environment suits individuals who enjoy physical, outdoor and indoor field work, direct crew leadership, and a safety-focused, hands-on construction setting.
